Ireland-based Trane, producer of heating, ventilation and air conditioning (HVAC) systems, and Germany-based automotive parts producer Witzenmann inaugurated the expansion of their production plants in the northern state of Nuevo León and the central state of Guanajuato, according to local press reports.

Trane invested $18 million to expand 10,000 square meters at its Monterrey, Nuevo León plant. Construction started in January 2023 and concluded last month. The expansion will allow the company to increase export capacity by 40 percent, the newspaper El Economista published today.

The new plant resumes production of equipment that was previously manufactured in the United States.

Additionally, German company Witzenmann doubled its auto parts production capacity in Apaseo El Grande, Guanajuato, the state government reported in a statement.

According to the government, the German company has clients such as Audi, Mercedes Benz, General Motors, Tenneco, Volkswagen and Rivian (a manufacturer of electric cars in the United States).

The investment in the expansion was $14 million and generated 350 additional jobs.
