US CRC exports up 38.0 percent in May

According to export data from the US Department of Commerce, US exports of cold rolled sheet totaled 119,393 mt in May 2023, up 38.0 percent from April and up 41.3 percent from May 2022. By value, CRC exports totaled $189.3 million in May, compared to $133.8 million in the previous month and $152.1 million the same month last year.

The US shipped the most CRC to Mexico in May with 53,039 mt, compared to 40,784 mt in April and 36,023 mt in May 2022. Other top destinations included Canada, with 15,859 mt. There were no other significant destinations (1,000 mt or more) for US CRC exports in May.
