US CRC imports down 21.4 percent in June

According to preliminary census data from the US Department of Commerce, US imports of cold rolled sheet totaled 101,053 mt in June 2023, down 21.4 percent from May and down 25.0 percent from June 2022 levels. By value, CRC imports totaled $122.2 million in June 2023, compared to $151.0 million in May and $214.8 million in June 2022.

The US imported the most CRC from Canada in June, with 48,443 mt, compared to 42,715 mt in May and 47,961 mt in June 2022. Other top sources of imported CRC in June include Australia, with 14,582 mt; South Korea, with 10,463 mt; United Kingdom, with 6,417 mt; and Mexico, with 5,129 mt.
